Carey was 5'10 inches tall when she became a leading model. She was a popular model was with American designers Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren was extremely high. In 1979, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists voted the father of her Scientist of the Year. Carey's father was a geologist who traveled around the world as part of his career. Her move to France in the year 1980, and lived for a short time in Paris and Bordeaux before deciding to return in New York to continue with her education at college and build a modeling career. She soon began appearing on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, etc. When she was modeling and continued to pursue her studies in full-time a major in literature in New York University. Her interest grew in acting and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. She had a small part in Club Paradise with Robin Williams In 1986. White water rafting, skis and rock climbing are her most loved activities.
